The fall
When I was 8, I was at my bach at Rotoma with one of my mates. His name is Jack, he is a year older than me. We were mucking around in the water. We heard dad yell out “lunch is ready!”, so we got out.
Half way up the stairs, I said to Jack “This is how you walk like a girl”. Then suddenly I lost my footing and swung under the bar. I flew through the air, thump! I hit the ground and felt a searing pain in my back. I screamed. Jack stared at my red face for 10 seconds. He vanished off in the distance.
Then I heard my dad sprinting down towards the jetty. He jumped over the wood and the blackberry like an olympic hurdle gold medalist. I was surprised he did not move me. He was asking me questions like if I could breath. He said everything will be ok. This is the worst thing that has happened to me. Luckily I was ok. It turns out I bruised my back and my skull.
Medal: think My feelings well.
