olimpic writing
We are writing about us being in the olympic games. But the sport we didn't have to be in it.
As the greatest set of the day rolls in I can hear the commentator saying Murfitt caught catch the gnarliest wave of the day. As I roll down the set face I see it's perfect. The barrel curves over me. The speakers are saying it's the biggest barrel of the day. I come out of the barrel to finish of the wave with an aerial I can hear the crowd cheering MURFITT!! “Now it's time for slaters set he rolls in bad, he wipes out” the commentator said. YAAAAAAAAAY!!!!! I won the gold medal. I think this is a world record for the youngest gold medalist. I am only 12 years old.
As I walk up to the podium we wait for the Queen to give us a medal instead she gives me a brand new lambo!! I am overwhelmed. Then she says have this its 1 million dollars i am so happy. The end. I spent all that money on lotto and lost it. That's why you don't gamble kids.

emergency flashlight
I am pleased it all worked out and all the lights turned on.
Today I enjoyed finishing. I think it was a good outcome.
Most challenge today was when I joined the white wire and the resistors fell of. Most difficult thing was trying to join the resistors to the LED because my hand was shaking. My soldering got better as I went along.

Think before you drink.
Alcohol Is one of the most addictive drinks in the world.
After one drink you will never want to stop.
Alcohol is addictive.
Alcohol causes crashes.
Alcohol causes violence.
Alcohol is the most commonly used drink in New Zealand. Not including water, more than half of all adults have a family history of alcoholism or problems drinking. More than 7 million children live in a household where at least one parent has drinking problems . This is in the USA. Alcohol abuse and alcoholism can affect all areas of your life. Long-term alcohol use can cause serious health complications, can damage your emotions, money, career, and impact your family, friends and community. If you start you could end
up like this when you're an adult or even a parent.
When young people drink they don't really know when to stop. When they are drinking they are not themselves and start to become stupid and get behind the wheel of a car and may crash. Here is showing how many crashes are caused by alcohol. In 2012, 331 serious injuries and 933 minor crashes, and 96 deaths. 31% of crashes are caused by alcohol. Alcohol is the 3rd biggest cause of death in new zealand.
Alcohol sometimes makes people violent, and people get hurt. Between July 2005 and March 2006, Police computers showed that 78,343 people drunk alcohol before to committing a crime. In a survey, about one in five people who responded felt that alcohol had a bad effect on their home life.
So after all this why would you drink lots? I am not saying don't drink at all. Just ease up on the drink. And calm your farm. I hope you have learnt the effect of alcohol to your future life. Thank you for listening.

The fall
When I was 8, I was at my bach at Rotoma with one of my mates. His name is Jack, he is a year older than me. We were mucking around in the water. We heard dad yell out “lunch is ready!”, so we got out.
Half way up the stairs, I said to Jack “This is how you walk like a girl”. Then suddenly I lost my footing and swung under the bar. I flew through the air, thump! I hit the ground and felt a searing pain in my back. I screamed. Jack stared at my red face for 10 seconds. He vanished off in the distance.
Then I heard my dad sprinting down towards the jetty. He jumped over the wood and the blackberry like an olympic hurdle gold medalist. I was surprised he did not move me. He was asking me questions like if I could breath. He said everything will be ok. This is the worst thing that has happened to me. Luckily I was ok. It turns out I bruised my back and my skull.
Medal: think My feelings well.
Medal: good background info.
Mission: I could make the story longer.

my poem
Rotoma
The water clear as glass .
Sky as blue as my chromebook.
The trees as green as as a $20 note.
The bright sun shining on the clear water.
My special place is like that
The children playing in the water.
The native birds chirping day and night.
The sound of the water lapping over the sand.
The sound of the fat from the pork ribs on the barbeque.
My special place is like that
The smell of the great big pine trees.
The smell of the curry on the dinner table.
The smell of the sawdust by the gum trees.
The smell of fish on the chopping board.
Rotoma is like that

quirky quick writes
WALT- use our imagination to write on a variety of topic for 5/10 minutes each day.
stormy day
22nd Feb
It was a stormy day the clouds were clustered together to make a big clap.
The waves were crashing into our boat as if a rhino was ramming us.
It was a pitch black night, there was not a single boat in sight.
The only visible light was of the caps of the wave and the light in the captain's quarters.
Octopus
3rd march
We sate staring at each other and then out of nowhere Randy Orton came for the RKO. He downed the boy octopus and killed it. the girl octopus started crying and spitting gow on Randy Orton. Then suddenly of herd something. It was JOHN CENA!! gave Randy Orton attitude adjustment.
Then John and the girl octopus became husband and wife.

apocalypse
Apocalypse
WALT- add detail to describe a setting.
We had to watch a movie and describe the setting in the movie.
Deserted and bashed buildings on the street. The dead trees burn in the harsh sun. The rusted playground stands still. The cold hard ground cracks over age. The grey dull walls are as blank as a white piece of paper. Just knowing the rusted cars may never start again. The cold slide never to hold children again.

portrait poem
My cousin Jack
Jack is a tsunami.
My cousin destroys everything.
He loves swimming and making big splashes.
He is big and bold.
He's as strong as a bodybuilder.
He's always noticed,
you get a huge fright.
By Tobias
this is my portrait poem. I had to include at least one simile and one metaphor.
